5 Cozy Autumn Outfits which will make you swoon

So the internet is filled with Autumn inspiration and I am happy to say that I am going to fill that blob of cyber space. Most of the items shown below don't really fulfill any 'trend'... To me, clothing and the key to having great style should be about setting your own trends and I hope that you see that in my outfits as much I think I portray that about myself. Most of what is below is how I tend to feel on that day and I suppose most of what was selected was , let's say, mood-dependent. 

Sometimes you'll find me in a jeans and sneaks and other times in A-line dresses and a great pair of heels. Even to school (which is my full time job-FYI)  I usually tone it down a little by dressing more modestly. That would mean making sure that my butt is covered cause , well, I teach growing adolescents!

Summer Outfit : The lace up heels

Hi Everyone! 

Wow! it's been a while since I last posted and honestly speaking, I just don't have a good enough excuse as to why I haven't been posting lately. In anyway, what have I been up to? Well, I have decided to take a break from studying. Which at first was a plus for me but then I instantly felt this deep need to WANT to do something with my 'spare' time (I just can't take a break), not that I ever feel bad about it (laughs). It's just that I came to the conclusion that I can just not NOT do anything!!  

I then diverted all that energy into starting a library at my school. I thought it would be a great project to keep me busy, and boy did it! After three months of hard work, at times sacrificing my holidays, myself and my team managed to open something huge for our school. When I started this idea, I didn't start this with the intention for fame or anything. But it seems to be that starting a library is a pretty huge thing in the eyes of 

 community Newspapers and Radio. Which brings me to the point where I would like to thank the sponsors who donated so generously to such an awesome cause! If you'd like to get involved, drop me a comment downstairs. 

About this look though...

Honestly, these past few months have been so incredibly difficult for myself and fam. Heart breakingly, we lost four fam                                                                                                            members in succession and it's been so crazy for everyone. So I kindve used the time to reflect on so many things in life but more specifically my own life: I need to start LIVING. Really really living. I want to do holidays and love what I do even more, I want to inspire, encourage and better the world around me. The idea of death has placed a lot of things in perspective. So throughout all these emotions, the last thing I wanted to do was stand in front of a camera, it actually felt wrong. 

Later in the shoot, it turned out to be exactly what I needed. I needed to feel the 'Normal' Iptishaam again and not the grieving one. So there I was putting my best foot forward with Zeenat from Pursuing Pictorialism. Up until the morning of I had no idea what to wear. I then just opted for whatever I had in my closet but knew that I wanted to do a transition between Summer and Autumn. The Skinny fitted and indigo jeans is a must for Autumn paired with trendy tassled inspired boots. You'll see that  I paired these beautiful lace up heels with this fitted denim piece. The mint chiffon casual shirt have always screamed summer for me when I look at my wardrobe, so I decided I'll pair it with a sleeveless blazer to give my outfit some edge of Autumn. I love the length. I wear it to work at least once a week cause it's such a cool cover up. 

I am also quite STOKED that Stitched The Blog reached a 1000+ followers on Facebook and Instagram. 

I'd like to thank each and every one of you who support my blog and my quest to change the lives of young people. One project at a time. 

This year you can definitely expect much more from me. Better content in terms of regular Fashion look post, competitions, tips for the 21st Century woman to live at her optimum potential. I know that most headed back to work and I'm sure you're feeling completely refreshed and rejuvenated to start the year? or if you still find yourself yawning at your desk before lunch time, know that it's completely normal and soon you'll get into the swing of things. I am currently still on school holidays. Some would be envious about the fact that teachers get longer holidays than most, but trust me, we need it. I am already starting to feel rejuvenated and kind of ready to head back to work. 

My school has handed the library project over to me which I am very excited for. So far I have  relied on donations from the sweetest people to get myself and my team started and I'd just like to say a Huge THANK YOU to those who have supported me through this venture. About this look though...

Palazzo Pants were a huge trend in the 60's and 70's and like any other trend, it has made a huge comeback. Of course, when this shoot was taken, I didn't know that. I just rummaged through my closet looking for a Summer Day-look outfit and managed to put this together. I must say, I love palazzo pants but only when worn the right way. I paired it with this pretty blush pink  (obviously my fav colour)  top from Zara tucked in. I wore it tucked in because the entire look is already quite flowing and kind of bulky so to give it more 'form' I tucked it in. Try this if you find yourself wearing two loose items of clothing together. 

The Denim Jacket from Mr P, is a must have in your closet if you don't have it already. It is the perfect item that gave my look a bit of an edge and for summer evenings where it may (or may not) become a little bit chilly, you know you've got a cover up! 

My hair: I decided to do bouncy soft curls using an ordinary GHD (YES! I still own one). I love that it looks so healthy here but I feel like its too much for me to handle. So I'm thinking about the Brazilian Blow out. I've read mixed reviews about it. Have you tried it? What do you think? Do drop me a comment below. :)

BLOOMING

My morning routine usually starts with jumping up at 7 'o clock the morning, rushing in the shower, quickly packing my lunch, eating breakfast whilst driving and with the last few minutes I have left,slither to my seat in the staff room before the principal walks in for his morning briefing. This is a Everyday occurrence without any alterations. I am sure that from my morning routine there are one or two things you can relate to. Right? 

In any case, the day when I had a little extra time on my hands, I had an epiphany: I am truly happy with where I am in my life. 

Regardless of the morning rush, I wake up and I think about all the things that I am grateful for like my health, the ability to think, my caring and supportive husband, the beautiful friendships that I have gained through the years as well as the fact that I am FINALLY starting to love my job! Yes, being a teacher is my true calling. I am bursting to tell you about my experience but let me do that in another blog post? 

As my life is blooming, so is my outfit! 

With its dark floral print and fitted ribbing piece in the center I knew that this dress would be the perfect dress that I would be able to wear to various occasions. Whether its for Eid (with a beautiful styled turban) or a comfortable yet classy date night look (as I've done here), this dress screamed all kinds of WOW for me. I complimented it with my favorite cork inspired heel, minimal make-up and accessories from 4Flavour and The Ramp store. 

How pretty are these images though? I always have so much fun with style photographer, Miskaa Price behind Iridescence Photgraphy. She made my dreams a reality because for the longest time now, I wanted to shoot a bohemian look! Yay! Follow to have your life captured through her lens!

A Prelude

Hi everyone! finally back at work and back to blogging! Oh, and a Happy New Year to you and your loved ones. 

The year 2014 has honestly been the toughest and often the most academically exhausting year as well as an emotional roller coaster. 2014 has seen me graduate and become a qualified high school teacher and pursue my honours in Educational Psychology. There were times when I used to give up internally and just end up crying because studying and working at the same time used to be really really difficult. When I look back, it is all worth it. 

On the flip side, 2014 couldn't have ended on a more beautiful note: I tied the knot with someone who makes me extraordinary happy by just being in the same room as me. (wink!) 

Now 2015 is here, and those are memories that I shall treasure but I have this huge urge to want to expand. So this look post is a prelude (hence the title) to that urge.  So from here on you can expect things to be a little more- for a lack of a better term- 'professional looking'.

YUP! that's me starting fresh. 

In the year 2015 I hope to grow as a unique individual, work harder at building a visually appealing blog as well a blog with great content. I hope to make time to look after myself (changed my hair a little) and my body and be accountable for the way it looks at the end of the day. I also aim to be the best that I can be to my husband as well as my family. On a business note, I recently sold beautiful kimonos on the side, this was just to spread my creative juices and they turned out to be a KILLER success (algamdulielah)! 
It is for this reason that I am looking in the direction of selling them again, perhaps in different styles, prints and textures so that it can appeal to everyone. 

This look was taken by the Amazing couple behind Capturing Concepts Photography. I love working with photographers especially Rasheeqoh and Abdul-Wahab. While Rasheeqoh was  taming my hair from the wind, Abdul was busy rolling on the grass depicting how I should lie to get 'the perfect pic'.
