Summer Outfit Inspiration: The Palazzo Pants

I know that most headed back to work and I'm sure you're feeling completely refreshed and rejuvenated to start the year? or if you still find yourself yawning at your desk before lunch time, know that it's completely normal and soon you'll get into the swing of things. I am currently still on school holidays. Some would be envious about the fact that teachers get longer holidays than most, but trust me, we need it. I am already starting to feel rejuvenated and kind of ready to head back to work. 

My school has handed the library project over to me which I am very excited for. So far I have  relied on donations from the sweetest people to get myself and my team started and I'd just like to say a Huge THANK YOU to those who have supported me through this venture. I am so very grateful. For those who would like to donate anything , readable books, magazines, stationary or furniture. Send me a mail and I'll get in touch with you. 

About this look though...

Palazzo Pants were a huge trend in the 60's and 70's and like any other trend, it has made a huge comeback. Of course, when this shoot was taken, I didn't know that. I just rummaged through my closet looking for a Summer Day-look outfit and managed to put this together. I must say, I love palazzo pants but only when worn the right way. I paired it with this pretty blush pink  (obviously my fav colour)  top from Zara tucked in. I wore it tucked in because the entire look is already quite flowing and kind of bulky so to give it more 'form' I tucked it in. Try this if you find yourself wearing two loose items of clothing together. 

The Denim Jacket from Mr P, is a must have in your closet if you don't have it already. It is the perfect item that gave my look a bit of an edge and for summer evenings where it may (or may not) become a little bit chilly, you know you've got a cover up! 

My hair: I decided to do bouncy soft curls using an ordinary GHD (YES! I still own one). I love that it looks so healthy here but I feel like its too much for me to handle. So I'm thinking about the Brazilian Blow out. I've read mixed reviews about it. Have you tried it? What do you think? Do drop me a comment below. :)

So as promised, here is the outfit post Myself and Miskaa managed to pull together round about the time when my school hosted its annual Charity for the senior citizens of the community. This shoot was taken before and I eventually arrived -slightly late- (Laughs) with all the crockery that still had to be set up. More about that day on Instagram! Follow if you aren't already! 

About this Look ... 

I'll be totally honest, I wasn't invited to the HnM launch which took place a few months back. I wasn't really phased cause I knew that everything that I needed to see was posted on Insta like from EVERYBODY. The whole do looked great and amazing and all those pretty words. I needed to have a look for myself. I then went like two weeks after it opened. 

I then scored me this lovely baby blue jumper for under R200, very light weight and can be worn especially on those summer nights next to the pool or for a late night drive to the beach (IF you do those things, I know I do!).  I also picture myself pairing it for a more formal occasion like a wedding in Autumn with a poofy skirt and killer heels and not forgetting a perfectly styled turban to capture the look nicely together. 

These Woolies boyfriend jeans is a great fit for me, not too tight and not too loose, just how I prefer it to be. These Daniella Michelle cork wedges were a must have when I spotted them at the Zoom Factory Outlet Store in Paarden Eiland a few months back, and goody for me they were having a sale! 

Plenty of people have been asking me about my shades. These are cheapies from Mr Price! Bought them a while back when I was very into cat eye! But then again, I don't think I'll ever leave that phase. Cat eye shades is so classy! And this pretty lip color is from MAC (obvz) in 'whirl'. It reminds me of Kylie Jenner! I don't know if that's a good or bad thing. But hey, i like the fact that it gives my lips a more fuller look .

Prints and Textures (NOT A FASHION MELT-DOWN..I promise)

Hey everyone! It has been a crazy long weekend, from making my Dad feel super duper special for fathers day to working the long weekend (even the public holiday). 

Speaking about work, this is something I put together for the day in retail. I knew i wanted to wear this balmain inspired dress, watermelon color cardigan and military boots but still felt that I needed to add more layers and perhaps different textures? 

I remembered that I bought this really cool scarf from Cotton On the day before and decided to pair it with this outfit. The beanie from Mr Price was just something i added to give my outfit some playfulness. 

As you can see, this look comprises of many details.. From Military, Balmain to quirky and fun. Here it proves that you can wear different elements and textures and still look appropriate? 

Obviously I am honking my own horn here, and I am sure you have your own opinion.. So what do you think? Am I playing it too safe? Are there too many elements together that it is just a complete mess?
